Lanvin Flats *Updated - 11/19/09*

See bottom of post for update. (Side note: The original post is from November of 2007, so some items linked here may no longer be available)

Lanvin flats are gorgeous, but incredibly pricey. Nicole Richie has been seen in several different colors/fabrics but here are a few looks for less in patent and satin.

Lanvin Patent Ballet Flats from Barneys. $515 and $495

Target has an adorable version for a much more budget friendly price!! The Simone Stretch Ballet Flats by Xhilaration are a steal at only $14.99. These also come in red, brown, and pewter.

Don't like the patent leather look? Lanvin also makes satin flats for $480.

Out of your price range? Try Scoop NYC's version of the satin ballet flat. $125 in various colors including brown (shown), black, purple, navy, light pink, etc.

Lanvin also makes a gorgeous gold flat for $545 at Barneys.

You can get a similar look for less at J Crew on sale for $79.99.

The Scoop version of these satin Lanvin flats are no longer online. If you're looking for a similar pair...try this version from Old Navy. They retail for $19.50 and come in black, grey, purple, and brown. Click here to purchase.

*Updated - 11/19/09* - Boutique 9 also has a version of the black patent flats that are similar to the Lanvin's. They retail for $59.99 at Heels.com and also come in taupe or bright pink. Click here to purchase.

Was out with the kids today (wearing my red patent Lanvins) and stopped in Old Navy. I tried on the satin knockoffs and have to say they were quite comfy! I only had them on a minute, though, so I can't say how they'd feel after wearing them a while. I may go back (by myself!!) and buy a few pair.

Well I definitely agree that there are much better looking and cheaper versions of the Lanvins. You mentioned the scoop nyc ones($125)- which I happen to have every color, and they may be the most uncomfortable shoes to ever exist, but I love them!!! And plus scoop is just as much a status store as lanvin (well maybe not AS much.... but it's almost there.) Another option like the lanvins are some diesels that I have which retail for about $79-89 I think. Completely opposite to the scoop flats, which I still love, they are THE most comfortable shoes I have ever worn in my 15 years of life. Just the downside to those is that I'm not sure they still make them because I bought them last year... but who knows they might.

I have Lanvin flats, the target ones, Old Navy and GAP ones..The Lanvins are the most comfy but the other 3 are awesome too-and for a fraction of the price!I can't even tell the difference when they're on and no one else will..

That black pair looks kind of cheap from Target and not the same material even in the pic as the one from Lanvin

But the satin one is doable. Looks cute and comfy.

^I actually have the Target version (they sold out long ago, this post is from a year or two ago) and they don't look cheap in person. The only thing I don't like is that the elastic isn't very comfortable for long periods of time.

I believe all of the satin options are sold out as well.
