Get The Look: Seeing Spots

Polka dots large and small were spotted all over the runway for Spring 2010, especially as part of Rebecca Taylor's collection where she mixed polka dots with flower prints. (Photo credit) Swimwear designer Rosa Cha also featured polka dots on several items, including the retro bikini pictured below. (Photo credit)

If you want to introduce this print into your wardrobe, I found several great items (all under $150) that will have you seeing spots!

Anthropologie Sun Spot Dress - $148
I love the colors and vintage vibe of this dress!

Forever 21 Polka Dot Sleeveless Dress - $17.80
Basic black and white never goes out of style, but this fitted dress might not be for the faint of heart.

Delias Sophie Skirt - $39.50
Try pairing this dotted skirt with floral accessories like Rebecca Taylor did if you're adventurous, or pair it with a white tank and sandals if you want to play it safe (either way it's perfect for spring!).

Anthropologie Spot Lights Tank - $58
This tank looks a little iffy at first, but look how adorable the model looks wearing it!

Pins and Needles Peter Pan Blouse - $39
This tee is anything but basic with a hint of vintage and adorable polka dots.

Jones NY Polka Dot Georgette Blouse - $64
This blouse reminds me of an Elizabeth and James top, giving you an inspired look on a budget.

Anthropologie Night Skating Top - $48
I love the multicolored dots on this shirt (you can see me wearing it here). It looks super cute with a cardigan over it, but also looks great alone in warmer weather.

Forever 21 Polka Dot Trapeze Tank - $13.80
Tuck this spotted tank into a black skirt or pair with jeans and a blazer.

Cooperative Polka Dot Button Cardigan - $32
This sweet and cozy cardigan also comes in red or white (my preference).

Patterson J Kincaid Sao Paolo Tank - $39 on sale
I love the black and pink on this flowy racerback tank, and am hoping to add it to my own wardrobe soon!

Madewell Nephytys Twisted Tank - $88
This black and white tank was also spotted on Rachel Bilson, who mixed patterns with ease.

Ann Taylor Loft Dots Pullover - $49.50
I saw this in the store and it looked adorable, I adore the pintucking detail at the top.

French Connection Pretty Polka Bikini - $61.18 for both ($30.59 for each piece)
With spring break coming up in a month or two, this polka dot bikini is priced right for your beach vacation.

Sheer Dot Tights - $14
Not sure if you're ready to introduce bold dots into your wardrobe? Add a subtle hint with these dot tights from Urban Outfitters.

How do you feel about the polka dot trend? Is it one you will embrace, or avoid this spring?

Thanks Amber! I am loving it too, I really need another polka dot shirt - the one I have from Anthro is one of my new favorites.

That Spot Lights tank is amazing! I've been thinking about taking the plunge to start buying and wearing Anthropologie. It's just so expensive! I'm so used to spending my money at places like Old Navy and NY&Co!

Marcie,

You could maybe wait for it to go on sale? I agree that Anthro seems expensive if you're used to buying basics from Old Navy and NY&Co but I think if you only buy pieces you love that will be versatile in your wardrobe it will be worth the investment. I like that they have fun twists on basic pieces, and everything I've purchased adds a feminine touch to anything I pair it with. Thanks for commenting!

Love polka dots! I'm attempting a room transformation based around them. Also, I tried the shirt with the peter pan collar on, I'd highly recommend going up a size if anyone is planning on ordering it, the arms are quite tight.
