Style Me Saturday: Bohemian Rhapsody

I recently received an email from Stefani who saw this photo shoot in Marie Claire and was hoping I could help her recreate at least one of the looks on a budget. Here's her email:

"I found a great California Hippie Photo Shoot- that was posted in Marie Claire. The style is to die for, but is waaaaaay more than I could bear! I attached two of my favorite photos from the shoot with hopes that you may be able to recreate them in some way."

I wasn't able to find exact pieces to recreate the looks featured in the magazine, but I think I achieved similar looks at a budget friendly price. This first look is pretty simple, with a breezy cami dress and headwrap, as well as a white coil bracelet.

To get a similar style, I came up with the following outfit comprised of an American Eagle tie dye cami dress ($39.50 - click HERE to purchase), Urban Outfitters braided headband ($10), and white wood bracelet ($6.99 - stack multiples for a similar look). Her shoes aren't shown, but I found these strappy nude sandals that I thought would work, which retail for $38. (Click on any of the links in this paragraph to purchase.)

This second look is a less literal take on hippie chic, and although I wasn't able to find patterned pants like she's wearing, I think this outfit featuring a pair of wide leg jeans will give you a similar look.

To get a similar style, first start with a slouchy cardigan (I chose one with a crochet back detail to give it a little more of a bohemian vibe) which retails for $38. Pair with a white cami ($9.99) underneath and throw on a pair of dark wash flare jeans ($49.99 on sale). For accessories, layer some necklaces like this wood and metal version ($16.90) and this long beaded one from F21 ($10.80). For finishing touches, some wooden bangles ($18) for one wrist and a woven one ($6.80) for the other, as well as some beaded sandals ($22.50). (Click on any link in the paragraph to purchase!)
