Style Me Saturday: Reception Dress Needed for Destination Bride

Reader Rebecca wrote me looking for some suggestions for a reception dress. She's getting married in the Caribbean next summer and is planning a reception back home after her and her husband return. The reception is going to be sort of a classy cocktail reception, so she was hoping for a short white dress that would be elegant and special for the event.

I found several white/ivory dresses that I thought would work for Rebecca, all under $200, but first let's go thru my favorites. As always, you can click on any of the photos for more information or to purchase (Note: Nordstrom's Shopstyle links haven't been working properly lately - they work and then they don't. So I've provided the links to Nordies in the paragraph above each dress.)

I LOVE this dress by Suzi Chin ($178) because it's simple and classic, and the petal neckline made me think of an island wedding when I saw it (maybe it's just me...?). Either way, this dress is stunning.

Now this Eliza J dress ($158) might not be for everyone, as I realize the large flower may be off putting for some, but I think it's really cute and fun.

Calvin Klein's Petal Applique dress ($178) has some great detailing which makes a simple dress a little more special.

Calvin Klein's One Shoulder Satin Dress ($178) is simple and classic, yet modern with the one shoulder and tier detail.

Suzi Chin's embroidered dress has some pretty pleat detailing and is a great price at $118. Please note, this one is cotton so it may not be dressy enough for Rebecca's reception but I wanted to include it because I thought it was pretty.

And here are a few more options that I found for Rebecca:

If the Nordstrom links aren't working - try these:
JS Boutique Dress
Tahari Dress
Adrianna Papell Dress
Maggy London Dress

There's a GORGEOUS short white dress from Charlotte Russe. It's under their vintage style link. It's between $30-40. It's more of a vintage style dress. That's the style my wedding is and if I had a separate reception I'd buy this dress in a heartbeat. I love it! Forever21 also has a really cute vintage short dress too.
