Style Me Saturday: Winter Boot Woes

I distinctly remember owning a pair of white heeled snowboots with fur trim when I was in 4th or 5th grade. Not exactly practical for a frigid Iowa winter, but it was the 80's/early 90's and apparently heeled snow boots were all the rage. To be honest I haven't really owned any suitable snow boots since, which leads me to Sarah's dilemma...

Reader Sarah lives in Salt Lake City, and she usually wears "ugly tennis shoes or snow boots" because her feet get so cold in the winter. She's willing to brave the chill for something a bit cuter, but I'm going to try and find a good mix between being warm and being cute so Sarah's toes stay frost bite free. Here are some of my picks (click on any image for more information)...

First up, Sorel's Joan of Arctic boot, which retails for $130 at Lori's Shoes. Yes, I realize these are definitely snow boots but I think they're kind of cute! Actually these are the ones I have my eye on this year (in black) because (obviously) I'm a sucker for fur trim.

Another option is this Belfiglio boot from Aldo ($160), which also comes in black.

Another boot from Sorel - these were featured in a J Crew catalog awhile back (see photo below) and look so cute on the model (tell me I'm not the only one who thinks so)!

Maybe you're looking for a little height, without the risk of falling on your you-know-what on a snowy day. If so, check out these wedges from Nine West ($168.95).

Ok, admittedly these Nine West booties ($128.95) are impractical for most super snowy locations - but aren't they cozy looking?

Here are a few more of my picks (practical and impractical), for the snow bunnies and those who just pretend to be (as we sit inside by the fireplace sipping a hot beverage)...
