Style Me Saturday: School Auction

Reader Emily has an event coming up where she works as a teacher's assistant at a private school. The event is an auction at the beginning of April and is a dressy event - typically cocktail attire. She doesn't want to look too business-y, but since it's a work event she wants to look festive and classy. Here are the outfit options I sent her after narrowing down some dress selections - click on any image for more information unless otherwise noted.

Emily really liked this dress from Asos but was worried it was a little too buttoned up and business-y. She originally sent me a leopard print dress (seen below) so I added a touch of animal print to make this a little more fun and festive, but still appropriate.

I think this look might be my favorite, although I realize mint green isn't a color for everyone.

This dress does go a little low in the front but could be easily remedied by having a seamstress sew up the neckline a little or adding a black cami (try one by Spanx or Yummie Tummie for a seamless look).

And finally this was the dress that Emily originally sent me but thought it might be a little too sexy. I suggest again, having the seamstress sew up the neckline a little or adding a cami underneath. Pairing it with closed toe pumps and vintage inspired jewelry tones down the sexiness a little and you could also add opaque black tights!
