My husband has the J.Crew ones and loves them. They were a gift and unfortunately came apart after only a few wears. We had them mended and are fine now but if I were buying them for him I would def go with the cheaper alternative.

Good to know, thanks for posting that about the J Crew ones! I've never actually seen those in person, but my brother got the AE ones for Christmas and said they are amazingly comfortable (and a great price too!).
