Style Me Saturday: I Left My Heart in San Francisco

I typically do Style Me Saturday posts for readers, but as I pack for my trip to San Francisco, I thought I'd share how I go about packing/styling outfits for a trip. First I figure out what the weather is going to be - the forecast is calling for mid 60's as the high most of the time we are there (with the exception of the day we're spending in Napa, where it is supposed be 80). Since I'm used to Iowa's hot, sticky, humid summer weather - I'm looking forward to layers and cooler weather! Most of these items aren't exactly what I'm packing, but are alternative options that are very similar to the item I will actually wear. You'll also notice I try to use the same accessories over and over again to limit the amount of "stuff" I have to take with me.

This first outfit is similar to what I plan on wearing to travel to San Fran, something light and comfortable (and that won't wrinkle too much on the plane).

The next looks are for the two days that we will be shopping and sight-seeing around the city (the collared shirt shown with the sweater in the first look will not be worn as part of the outfit - basically I'm going to wear a version of THIS outfit). The second is a Kim K inspired look that I have been wanting to recreate. (Click here to purchase the necklace featured)

A version of this casual sundress/cardigan outfit will be worn while wine tasting in Napa/Sonoma. (Inspired by a recent Reese Witherspoon outfit!)

I know we'll be going out to a couple of nice dinners so I packed two outfits that would work for an evening out.

And finally, a heading home outfit! Again, keeping things layered and comfortable for the long flight.
