Although not available in the same colors, this Go for Baroque peasant top from Anthropologie is a great option for a lot less cash (although it has some differences such as the smocking). Inspired by...Shopbop
A reader recently wrote on Facebook that she wanted me to put together some work appropriate looks, and when I saw Shopbop's most recent lookbook it gave me some inspiration to get started. I love this look which is comprised of Theory's Gaiselle sweater ($190), Jenni Kayne's back zip mini skirt ($595), and KORS Michael Kors Royal Two Band sandal ($250). Total cost of this look (without accessories): $1035.
The look I came up with has it's differences, but was inspired by the Shopbop look above and will save you a ton of cash. The main thing I liked about this look was the linen blend sweater from Theory giving a summery yet still office appropriate feel to the outfit. The second thing I liked was the neutral color palate. Taking those two things into consideration, I came up with this different but inspired by (and budget friendly) alternative outfit...
J Crew silk linen v-neck sweater - $24.99 (on sale)
Tuck this sweater into the skirt for a similar look.
Gap new pencil skirt - $44.50
Type Z Landers Sandal - $69.20 (on sale)
Total cost of the inspired by outfit: $138.69...which will leave you plenty of cash for accessories!
So there you have it, a Shopbop inspired work appropriate outfit for a fraction of the cost of the original outfit! I will be featuring more styles inspired by their recent lookbook as the week goes on!
