Hi! Thanks for this giveaway!

I've never been much of a fashionista in real life, although I wish a could (not slim enough to pull off a lot of the styles I like to see haha). In high school I wasn't into clothes yet so occasionally I'd wear those cheestastic souvenir shirts you get from theme parks and tourist attractions. Well, one time I decided to wear a white, ill-fitting Minnie Mouse tshirt with loose "light blue" jeans. It happened to be picture day as well. So now my glorious fashion back then is immortalized in my yearbook, and makes me cringe everytime I look through it haha.

I have too many faux pas to name, haha!! The time I got a perm about 9 yrs. ago sticks out for sure! Anytime I've worn anything mid-drift baring. Happened a lot in 2001 for some reason. I had a red to from Express than had an opening right above the belly button, yuck.

Thanks for the giveaway, Jen. Im following on twitter. I think the worst fashion faux pas I can recall would be wearing the neon-splattered parachute material track suit in the 80s. Keep in mind I sported this fantastically-eye-glaring look with glasses, braces and scraggly long hair down my back. Nice. haha!

I wore a dress that I kept for special occasions to a wedding. It wasn't until I got there that I realized how hopelessly out of date it was. I'm glad no one was paying attention to me that day.

the 90s were not great for a lot for us, myself included, when i assumed that stiff, baggy, carpenter khaki's were flattering. every. day.

Ahhh - fashion faux pas are many during my times in the 80s but one that will continuously haunt me is this black & white houndstooth bubble skirt that I wore on TV no less. To date, when my close friends want to horrify me, they just have to say two words "Bubble Skirt"

Being a child of the late 80s/early 90s, there are so, so many... my worst infraction however has to be the eagle wing bangs. I would barrel curl my fried bangs with a teeny 1/4 inch curling iron, aquanet spray the begeebus out of them, let it sit while I got dressed, and then comb it out in this awful piecey fan shape. Oh yeah, and then I'd spray it again. I might have worn big baggy neon t-shirts under white denim overalls too. To complete the look. ;)

I thought I could get away without wearing a bra in a halter dress...little did I know that although the girls were supported, the material was not as thick as I imagined. I was walking around South Beach all day virtually topless!

For my 6th grade picture in school I wore a bright pink floral body suit from the Gap under denim overalls that had matching patches all over them and a pair of socks that matched as well. Definitely not my shining fashion choice of all time!

Great giveaway!

Oh man, I can't even recall all my fashion faux pas! I think the worst one I can remember is for my house-warming/high school reunion I had when I was in university. I wore a tight black mesh t-shirt with a black tee. It doesn't sound that bad, but looking back at pictures, it's pretty terrible!

Love the giveaway!!!!

Oh man as a child in the late 80s early 90s I wore a many bad combos of bright colors. My favorite was my teal stirrup leggings with purple socks and a pink t shirt. Not Good!!! :)

Man, I can think of a few, including wearing a white summer dress that was a little too short with a white sweater that was a little too large. I felt as if I looked like I was walking around with a down comforter wrapped on my body. Totally tacky and a faux paus.

May have been on my middle school graduation dinner when I split pasta sauce on my white dress and had to cover the mess with a big freakin' fake flower the entire night. Uck.

i bet i make a faux pas EVERYDAY. most recently, i was walking around town with a thin, white tee and the worst bra u could imagine wearing. didnt realize my shirt was completely see-thru with this bra until i'd already been quite a few places downtown...

I LOVE this bag; I hope I win!!

I'm sure I've had several faux-pas, but one involved overalls with only one strap buttoned. Apparently I thought I was a gangsta. Awesome.

can't think of my worst, but I'll supply you with my recent.
I have worn 2 different shoes at the same time! Last week, I was running terribly late to work (ahem, as always) and just went to my shoe rack and grabbed a right and left shoe in the kinda-sorta-dark. When I got on the train, I noticed that one flat was brown and one was black! I thought I had grabbed both brown, as I had a beige/yellow flowery top. Oh the horror to wear mixed matched shoes. ALLLL DAY :(

I am a fan of Mimi on FB :)

my worst high school fashion faux pas...socks with sandals and too short pants, that would barely cover my ankles.

when i thought short overalls were flattering. and in middle school when i wore a logo tee, khaki cargo pants, and skecher shoes every single day. hahaha. i cant remember if that was the in thing back then or just me.

sandals with mismatched socks

So fun! So I have a couple fashion faux pas. First, I used to wear white tall socks folded over with sandals. Awful. My Mom used to tell me I couldn't and I didn't understand why and I did it anyway. Ugh. Now I know. Also, in elementary school when most kids are in fun cute clothes I ALWAYS wore pant suits. Not cute ones either but I loved them. Needless to say, I don't love a lot of my childhood photos hehe

When i was into the whole baggy jeans scene...JNCOs, baby blue UFOs (the big parachute-like pants that people wore to raves)

Thanks for the giveaway. I LOVE this bag! SO cute! I am a fan of Mimi Boutique on Facebook!

When I was in middle school the cool thing to wear was socks and sandles...but not just any sandles, Adidas and Doc Marten sandles. I still can't believe we did it. Then overalls were also one of the fashion mistakes I made in middle and high school...just awful! Especially when I would wear it with one strap unbuckled. Ugh...

I'm guilty of many fashion faux pas! I rocked a shaggy mullet in elementary school. I wore the oversized cartoon t-shirt and bike shorts with birkenstocks and socks in middle school and I owned bell bottoms in high school! Thanks for the giveaway! I am a Mimi facebook fan.

It has been really fun to read some of the comments! I think I worst fashion faux pas was 12 years ago when I thought overalls were cute! *Palm to forehead* But now that I am older I have learned better! I just wish others have too! lol. Thanks for the great giveaway!

Hilarious comments.

Probably my worst fashion faux pas was when, at 14, I thought it would be really cool to wear a black maxi-skirt made out of sweatshirt material (this was 2000, so maxi skirts were NOT in style - and this one never would have been anyway), with rainbow striped toe socks visible through the slit in the skirt. I thought I looked unique and cool, but really I just looked terrible.

Luckily, my mom warned me away from wearing this too many times.

Following on Twitter! Thanks for the give away

All through high school when I wore jeans, shorts, pants that were TOO TIGHT for me. Now I can't stand the feel of anything pinching into my hips or waist. I'm a fan of Mimi Boutique on Facebook.

Where to start with fashion faux pas - as a child of the 80's I can remember wearing neon sweatshirts, leg warmers, stirrup pants, neon pink madonna bows in my hair and many many more horrible things! Oh well I guess that was fashion back then..

UGGs, I wore the cheaper knock off ones. I even wore them in summer. This was back in 2005...cringes

I'm debating between quite a few. I grew up in the 80's, so I wore a lot of tshirt ties that we colorful. My tshirt would be tied up on one side and my side pony tail would be balancing it out by being on the opposite side. I also wore overalls with the rest of the jr. high cheerleaders on game days. I remember once in high school being nominated for something and needing to take a picture for the yearbook. I showed up in a tshirt and jeans and was actually asked by the yearbook teacher if I was seriously representing my class dressed like "that."

OH my goodness! I love Mimi Boutique! I'm a fan on Facebook.

So my biggest fashion faux pas might be from the 7th grade when I insisted on wearing metallic blue bowling shoes every day...with every kind of outfit. I have no idea why I was so obsessed with these hideous shoes that I found on super clearance, but I was. :)

macy said...

My biggest fashion faux pas might have to be a silver metallic pleather skirt I had/loved in Middle School. Looking back people probably thought I was some kind of space cadet. Yikes!!

Becca said...

I would say my fashion faux pas was pretty much most of what i wore in high school! But my worst faux pas that sticks out in my mind was back in elementary school when i wore a matching magenta velour jump suit! it was pretty horrible thankfully i don't think there are any pictures of it.

Thanks for the giveaway!
